an extra little something

Little Miss Five finished her at Pre-School this week…
I love the inflatable Santa suit, which one of the assistants donned for the Christmas Party.’
We’ve had a fabulous Kinder year. The staff there are so dedicated, and involved with the kids. Little Miss Five adores them all.
I wanted to put an extra little something in with their Christmas Cards… so I made some more of these Jean Greenhowe Stockings
This time I omitted the garter band at the top, instead working a few more rows of stocking stitch, and then working some whip stitch embroidery around the top edge – and added their name.
Not entirely delighted with how the names came out…
I would have prefered something a bit more flowing and graceful, rather than chunky and angular… maybe I can work on that for next time!
Meanwhile…
I need to start preparing myself for the fact that my BABY starts at school next year!!!! ARGHHHHHHH…

Sharon it really is a gut wrenching thing when your child heads off to their first day of school. It’s also something you’ll remember forever. Make sure you take pictures when the time comes to share with us ’cause we’ll be here for you. Is this your youngest? I love the little stockings and I’m sure the embroidery was well received by all. LOL Sounds like they all had a wonderful time.
Merry Christmas!

It is gut wrenching when you wave them off in the uniforms for the first time, I thought it would get easier, but when the eldest started senior school this autumn, I was more upset that I had been when both boys started school.
I must be getting softer as I get older!
Love the socklets – I am sure the staff will be delighted with them

kate – I think you might be right about us getting softer as we get older!
anyway, I have about six weeks to prepare myself – and by the time I’ve had the kids home on holidays for that long… I might even be pleased to wave goodbye
