Wonderful pictures and such a good lookin family. I thought that was a starfish? in the picture. lol So warm and sunny there and so freezing and snowy here lol.
Welcome back Sharon:
The photos are lovely – Glad the family was able to enjoy some real R and R!!!! Made another rag bag and am almost finished with my first pair pf sox – crocheting these but they appear more like slippers perhaps I will break out the old knitting needles and give that a try!!! Learned how to get the look of a ribbing while doing crochet while you were away! Dad passed on the 20th House so very quiet… after having him and Mom return in May of 07 – Now they are both in the world of Non-Physical energy. I have a sense of great PEACE, knowing that they both died at home and that we (sister and I) did all humanly possible during those 2 yrs.
Back to creating!!!!!

barbara – thankyou! and you’re totally correct… it is a starfish… we saw hundreds and hundreds of them while visiting the rock pools, but this little guy was by far the most unusual!
lyn… big hugs to you on the loss of your dad… I did get your email, but it was just as we were heading away on holidays. I think I know the feeling of peace that you are talking about. The sense of loss is still there, but there is no greater feeling than knowing that you did everything you could to support them…. more big hugs xx
kathleen – thanks for stopping by… meanwhile, we are expecting 36C (97F) today and 40C (104F) tomorrow… and I have NEVER experienced anything even close to -29F (-34C)… I can’t even get my head around how cold that must be!!!!
What lovely photos – love the starfish and the “slippery” rocks. Still trying to believe that there are places where people can go outside without three layers of clothes, hats, scarves, gloves, boots etc. But also feeling much warmer than -29!
Gorgeous photos !! Thanks so much for sharing. My fave is the one of your DH hugging your DD. Love !! Have you got any more pictures of waves and water?
Hi.
Love your website. Just starting to Crochet @ 69!!!! Working on a cowl and crocheting rugs!!!! Love this…your tut’s are great, but don’t get the way to cut the long strips so you don’t have many ties. Guess I am too old to understand this. LOL
Next, I am going to try a handbag. Keep those easy patterns coming. Love your photos. I live in Kansas and it was -14 below last night. BRRRRRRRRRR. Any extra room at your house???? hahahah.

ficklephonebug – it was fun! I have to say that it has been our best family beach holiday yet!!! mostly because the kids are a little bit older now, and easier to deal with at the beach… it’s always a nightmare when you have one who won’t come out of the water, one who screams at the mere sound of waves, and one who refuses to touch the sand!!!
and indeed… I have my mind on ocean projects
eta: I haven’t even heard of sand dollars before, but I did a little google… maybe that’s what my unusual starfish is!
sandy – yes… come to my house… I can show you how to cut those continuous strips, and you can enjoy the sunshine at the same time!!! sounds like a great plan to me…
Sharon, believe or not my favorite picture is the feet in the sand! Well they are all my favorites. You have a beautiful country and a gorgeous family.
lisa – I love that shot of my feet in the sand, too… it was such a wonderful feeling to have the sand between my toes – and incredibly exfoliating, too! thanks for the gorgeous feedback
wendy – we must be on the same train of thought… since seeing all those starfish, I have been brewing all sorts of ideas of how to really bring one to life using crochet!

I was trying to decide if the starfish was real or one of your crochet projects! Your photog skills show you are an artist all around!

hey nikki…
the starfish is definitely real… BUT it did inspire me with ideas for crafting, which is why I wanted to take a photo of it!
thanks for the beautiful feedback
