an extra little something

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

Little Miss Five finished her at Pre-School this week…
I love the inflatable Santa suit, which one of the assistants donned for the Christmas Party.’

We’ve had a fabulous Kinder year. The staff there are so dedicated, and involved with the kids. Little Miss Five adores them all.
I wanted to put an extra little something in with [...]

personalized christmas stockings

Friday, December 11th, 2009

I volunteered to be a Swap Angel for the Christmas Swap over at Crochet Lovers Victoria. A Swap Angel takes over when one of the participants isn’t able to follow through on the committment of sending their gift. Otherwise, someone who had sent an item, would miss out on receiving one. And that’s not nice!
Anyway, [...]

christmas bat

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

Okay… before you start thinking that we must have some weird Christmas traditions here in Australia… let me just say, that the Christmas Bat is not something you would commonly see here. In fact, I’m pretty sure he is a one-of-a-kind!
I made him for my swap partner. She received him yesterday, and got a wonderful [...]

christmas swap

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

Once again, we have had a Christmas Swap over at Crochet Lovers Victoria on Ravelry. The idea being to make a few small decorations to send to one of the other members in the group.
I’ve really enjoyed my time at Crochet Lovers Victoria (CLV). The group was started on Ravelry by Stramenda, so that local [...]

frosty the snowman

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

Can’t get my head around the fact that it is already December. How on earth did that happen? I feel like someone has stolen the second half of this year. I can’t even remember August or September or October…
Mind you, it’s been a crazy six months or so.
All of our decorations are up, but somehow [...]

bell completed

Monday, December 15th, 2008

I still think this flower is a bit on the large side… but I’m loving the look of the felt with the aged bell… and the colours of the felt are just perfect.

As you can see, I have added a couple of green leaves. They were a bit ‘flat’ on their own, so the embroidered [...]

perhaps a poinsettia?

Sunday, December 14th, 2008

I’ve been thinking about how to best decorate this bell, and decided I would try out a felted poinsettia flower…

Started out with some red and green felted jumper pieces and some beads. I made a cardboard template for the petals, and cut out eight pieces from the red felt.

Then started sewing them together, alternating beads [...]

an old christmas bell…

Saturday, December 13th, 2008

This old Christmas bell once belonged to Mr Goldfish’s grandmother.
I don’t usually put it up, but I think it’s time to put a hook in the ceiling… so that I can hang it up and everyone can enjoy it. It actually plays a tune. You pull on the… um… glitter ball… I’m sure this [...]

master six produces a necklace

Monday, December 8th, 2008

You might remember I’ve talked about our plans for a hand made Christmas in the Goldfish household. Basically, instead of buying gifts for one another, we will be making them.
Well… over the weekend, Master Six worked on his gift for Little Miss Four. She is very much a girly girl who loves her jewellery, so [...]

I’m back

Sunday, December 7th, 2008

Recently I shared with you a Christmas wreath which I had made from rags. I loved that it was made entirely from recycled materials… but the colours I chose were far too subtle for my taste! Very unusual for me to play it safe with colour. I’m not at all sure what was going on [...]
