vibrant green

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

Added a vibrant green to my ripple blanket…
I was so sure that I had taken a photo of the original jumper, but can’t seem to find it anywhere.
It was beautifully hand knit, but had never been worn.
I can imagine that very few people would look good in this particular shade of green.
In small doses, [...]

trouble with monogamy…

Monday, July 12th, 2010

Please don’t breathe a word of this to Mr Goldfish… but I have a terrible time trying to remain monogamous.
I mean… there are so many temptations out there… how can a person not want to sample a little bit of everything??? It seems only natural to me.
Now, before you all start tut-tutting at me… I’m [...]

mystery solved – now what???

Friday, July 9th, 2010

Thanks to Kyliie and Elle for solving the mystery of this square!
It is the PUMPKIN PATCH SQUARE, click here for the free pattern
So, now that I’ve finally found the mischevious square… any ideas on what I could use it for???
The first thing that springs to mind is to make a cushion to match the afghan, [...]

useful… but a bit too plain!

Thursday, July 8th, 2010

Look at what my friend Dawnie bought for me.

Isn’t she a treasure???
This is the best hook storage system that I have ever used.

Four zippered pockets…. which are just the right size.
Pocket 1 contains bits and pieces – wool needles, scissors, gauge ruler, tape measure, etc.
Pocket 2 contains my 3mm and 4mm hooks
Pocket 3 contains the [...]

rippling along

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

Thanks for all the wonderful feedback on my new ripple project.
There’s only been a tiny bit added since the other day.
I think it’s going to be one of those long term projects. I don’t expect it to be finished this winter, but it WILL be done by next winter.
Part of the delay has been that [...]

crazy urban appeal

Loving this hat…
I’ve been wearing it almost every day for the last week!
The pattern is called URBAN APPEAL, and it’s from the Lisa Gentry booklet which I blogged about here.
Just looking back at that blog post, I find it amusing that I wrote about the two hats I thought I might make first… well, I’ve [...]

a crochet snuggie???

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

Every now and then I receive a copy of The Fox Collection catalogue in the mail. It’s mostly full of embroidery kits, but has now expanded to include yarn and paper crafts as well.

I love looking through the glossy pages… It’s a good excuse to sit down with a cup of hot coffee, and dream [...]

bright ripples

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

I warned you that they were bright, didn’t I?

I’ve decided that my bedroom needs uplifting… and this ought to do the trick, don’t you think???
Plus, of course I will be adding MORE colours into the mix…

Click here to go and visit Lucy over at Attic 24 to see the tutorial I am using for my [...]

adorable flutterbye

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

Little Miss Five has just turned Six.
And to celebrate, I made her this adorable butterfly – in her favourite colour – PURPLE.
The pattern was written by Jacqui Delaney, who is one of the girls from my craft group. I’ve been keen to try it out for a while now. It’s called Flutterbye and is available [...]

textured stripes

Monday, June 21st, 2010

Already finished a beanie from Lisa’s new crochet booklet…
Supposed to be worked on a 5.0mm hook – but I couldn’t find one, so I just got stuck into it with a 4.0mm… my tension tends to be loose anyway, so it’s turned out just fine.
This one is for my brother… so the colours are fairly [...]
